Our history

The Bellini and Bonamico families created this genealogical branch after settling in Rome in 1871. The Bellinis arrived in the new Italian capital from San Sepolcro to work on the marble supplies for the Palazzacio (Palace of Justice); the Bonamicos arrived from Turin in order to participate in the Italian unification.

Bellini Holding GroupAldo Bellini, son of Alfredo Bellini, was born in Rome on July 14, 1915. He graduated from university in January 1940 with a thesis on the arrangement of the area behind the apse of St. John Lateran. His thesis committee was chaired by Ugo Amaldi. During his university studies, he focused on new university buildings, the Pontifical Roman Seminary, the Palace of Cardinal Vicar and the Stravinsky villa near Lake Piediluco (Terni).

After a misunderstanding with Professor Vincenzo Fasolo, and partially because of a serious illness, he left university for two years, although he didn’t abandon architecture, since he continued to work at his father’s construction sites. After returning to university and after an experience in the Milanese firm of the architect G. Muzio, he graduated in the academic year 1939-40. He wanted to prove wrong Professor Fasolo’s prediction that “he would never become an architect because he was too rich and handsome.” WWII had already begun; his quarrel with professor Fasolo ended positively during his thesis defense, and Aldo Bellini remembers with affection and emotion the behavior of the old professor in that occasion, which culminated with the highest grade (110) and a warm hug.

Aldo Bellini passed his qualifying examination in Naples in 1941. After being drafted into the Artillery Battalion in Capua, in May, 1942 he moved to the Centro Studi ed Esperienze of the Naval Ministry to work on experimental reinforced concrete boats and on floating dry docks. After the war, in 1947, he worked on residential buildings in the Nomentano section of Rome; later his career focused mainly on the study of buildings and overseeing their construction.

Since he wanted his father’s name to be present in his professional work, he founded Costruzioni Alfredo Bellini before his father’s death. He worked on the planning and on the construction of groups of buildings, villas and small structures, for example the buildings in front of Villa Stuard, others in Via Belloni and in Via Pompeo Neri, a small building on the Lungotevere Flaminio, and a building in Via Ninfeo di Lucullo in Frascati. In 1972, after finishing the complex of Casal Lumbroso, he decided to stop his building activity because of the excessive bureaucratic interference in the construction industry.
He continued however working as a consultant and drawing up executive projects, for example for the service stairs of the S.I.A.E. building in EUR, designed in 1965 by V. Monaco, F. Luccichenti e L. Passarelli. His last work, which still awaited approval, consisted in terrace houses in Genzano, Monte Cagnoletto. [Source: ordine Architetti Roma.]

With increased demand for his company’s services across broadening fields, in 2005 Francesco Bellini founded Presint Engineering, a new architecture and engineering firm that guarantees professionalism, long experience, and the highest technical competence across multiple sectors. The company also collaborates with selected specialized consultants in order to offer necessary services related to architecture, engineering and infrastructures at every level of complexity.
